I visited Berlin in June 2022 with my mother to visit my sister who was expecting. Within a week of our arrival, my sister gave birth to a baby. I helped my brother-in-law set up their new home, and things settled down once my sister returned home after a week. Since this was my first time visiting Berlin and I only knew my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, I found it challenging to meet new people. At first, I used to drop off and pick up my nephew from school. However, after a week, I got a SIM card connection, which gave me more freedom to explore the city safely. However, I still felt lonely without any friends in the city. To address this, I decided to approach people and shoot portraits. At first, I wanted to approach random strangers on the street, but as an introvert, I found this difficult. So, I turned to Instagram and Bumble BFF to find people willing to participate in my project. Fortunately, many people responded positively, and I managed to shoot portraits of six individuals. Each of their stories can be found below.
