I mostly contacted people through Instagram and Reddit. When I contacted Julia on Instagram, I did not get an instant reply. She texted me back after almost a month, just as I was about to leave for my Euro trip. Luckily, we were both free on the weekend she responded. By this time, I had already shot portraits of Marti, Catalina, and Lizz. I sent Julia the pictures from their sessions, and she liked them instantly. Even though I spent quite some time in Berlin, I wasn't aware of many places, so I always asked people for suggestions. Julia suggested Futurium, and we agreed to meet there at 4 pm. In India, 4 pm is a good time to shoot because the sun sets earlier, but in Berlin, it's still like afternoon in India because the sun sets at 9 pm during European summers.
But here's where things get interesting. When we met up at Berlin Central Station, Julia had a white Rituals bag with her. I assumed she brought a change of clothes, but nope. Instead, she pulled out a stack of ripped-out magazine pages with pictures of models on them. I was shook. This woman was prepared! She was ready to curate her own little photo shoot with my help. Julia was loving it, soaking up that sun like a true European. Afterwards, we went to a coffee shop to chat and say our goodbyes. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I say Julia's magazine clippings are priceless.
