Anna was new to Berlin when we first started talking. When I asked for her suggestions for the shoot, she expressed her desire to be photographed in a palace. She had this white empire-line dress, and being shot in a palace was a small dream of hers. This conversation took place towards the end of June, and although we conversed for days, we never managed to meet due to our busy schedules. Sadly, I had to leave for my Euro trip before meeting her. Before departing, I promised myself that I would make this shoot happen once I returned. Upon my return to Berlin at the end of August, I reached out to her, only to discover that she had already visited the palace, fulfilling her “palace dreams.” With that, my dream of fulfilling someone else’s small dream vanished. We decided to meet at Checkpoint Charlie, as suggested by Anna, and had a quick shoot. This became my last Humans of Berlin shoot and is also my favorite.
