Divya and I have been buddies for ages, but we lost touch when she went to New Zealand to become a Kiwi bird or something. Then, out of the blue, I get a notification that she's finally back on social media, and I quickly message her to see how she was doing. We start catching up, but we're terrible at keeping in touch, so we only chat every blue moon.
One day, she calls me on FaceTime and asks me to take her pictures, but her phone is so old that it's practically a fossil. I mean, it's so old, it probably belonged to one of the pharaohs! I try my best, but the pictures turn out to be more blurry than an out-of-focus camera lens.
I tell her she needs to upgrade her phone, but she's stubborn and insists on keeping it. I guess she's saving up for the next ice age, or something. I joked with her about upgrading her phone, but she still hasn't done so even after two years.
Last year, Divya came to India for her sister's wedding, and she told me that she wanted to pose as a saree model at Dakshin Chitra. However, our plan hit a snag, and we ended up meeting at a café instead. Divya had so much ice cream that the poor cows back at the dairy started a petition to protest her gluttony. Then, I took her to my favorite street in Chennai, and we took some photos that were worthy of posting on Instagram. To top it off, we decided to hop on the MRTS train to capture more shots. As we posed for the camera, we couldn't help but notice the curious stares from other passengers. Divya burst out laughing when I made a comment and said, "Hey, you look like Nayan di!" We managed to capture her laughter in one of the pictures, adding to the fun memories of our day together.
